For the first time, Yspot Brand organized an essay writing competition for secondary school students. The purpose was to help children develop and organize their thinking about key concepts, build their critical thinking and communication skills, encourage them to develop a formal, disciplined approach to writing that communicates clearly and with authority especially when arguing a case. We considered this competition to be highly important for children in the face of the COVID 19 pandemic, and a great way to aid their transition back to school.
The maiden edition of I-CAN Write had 26 students register from Nigeria, Indian and The Gambia. The participants were asked to write on the theme: My COVID 19 experience and Recommendations for the education system Post COVID 19.
Winners of this competition were announced on Saturday, 12th September, 2020 at a virtual event. Participants received a certificate of participation while the 2nd runner up received an A1 Smart Phone Watch With Camera + Sim & SD Card Slot (White), the first runner up received a Stylish Outdoor Electronic Smart Watch, a Wireless Bluetooth Earphone-In-Ear-Music-Earbuds with charging box, and the winner received an A1 Smart Phone Watch With Camera + Sim & SD Card Slot (White), a Wireless Bluetooth Earphone-In-Ear-Music-Earbuds with charging box and a Vacuum Cup Stainless Steel Water Bottle (Black).
